Weather models have improved over the years. Every year they are more and more accurate. Below are the most common models that run nation wide. Remember, models are only to be used as a guidance and not to be accepted as fact like some TV stations would lead you to believe. When you do accept models as fact, you suffer from what Chuck Doswell terms "Model Cancer."
If you know of any good sources of model data, please submit them through our Weather Links Submission Form or E-mail us at wxlinks@severewx.com. Is there a broken link on this page? Let us know at deadlinks@severewx.com. |
DISCLAIMER: Remember storm chasing exposes chasers to
many hazardous and potentially deadly weather conditions such as lightning,
dangerous roads, damaging winds, hail, and flying debris which puts the chaser's
life at risk, particularly those who
have little or no experience and/or storm structure education. Learning to deal
with these is best done by understanding supercells and thunderstorms, and riding
with an experienced chaser before attempting to chase on their own. The author
of these pages does not encourage storm chasing and is therefore not responsible
for any actions as a result of what is seen here!
